What is it like to be a student here at The LC?
Being at LC grants me an opportunity to learn in every aspect, whether it be in the classroom or on the playground and field.
Can you tell me about a powerful learning experience you have had at The LC?
One of the biggest learning experiences that I have had at the Learning Community was centered around sportsmanship and community. During Field Day, there was an instance where a teammate shared hurtful words to the opposing team after they had won. This caused an uproar against the winning team and members of the team against the student that said those words. To see every student speak up for the student while educating the opposing student about humility gave me a sense of pride. I say pride because that moment made it clear that I am surrounded by upstanding students who care a lot about each other, and that is all thanks to the Learning Community and the workers who are keen and willing to share such core values.
What are your dreams for the future?
In the future, I plan on studying criminal law and psychology. My dream jobs include becoming a criminal lawyer or a therapist. I see myself traveling and creating memories with my friends and family.
What are your dreams for the future of the US?
In regards to the future of the US, I see a ton of minorities using platforms to spread awareness on social and political issues. Also, I see them doing what they love and following their own dreams.
Are there any people or experiences that have influenced you here?
I believe that every teacher and worker that I have ever encountered at the Learning Community has influenced me in the most positive way possible. Hearing their stories and their unique backgrounds has taught me so much, I can not be any more grateful for them.
What would you say to someone who wants to know about The LC?
One thing that you should know is that there is a space for every parent and child in our tight-knit, inclusive family. From extracurricular activities to clubs, this community has open arms for everyone.
