We believe that literacy empowers each individual to have a voice, assume community responsibility and take social action. We grow teacher leaders, student leaders and community leaders.
We are a nationally recognized urban, public school serving 575 children, who enroll via a public lottery in K through 8th grade from Central Falls, Providence, and Pawtucket. We are a professional community that is focused on growing the whole child including speaking, listening, and debate skills.
Our track record has been extraordinary
The Learning Community has a remarkable record of proving that poverty need not be a barrier to student achievement and success in life! And, we are one of only a handful of schools that has been nationally recognized for sharing what works with other public schools in systematic ways and with measurable results. We are now focused on innovative approaches to social emotional resilience and accelerated learning. We look forward to becoming a model for how to recover from the pandemic and continuing to share what we learn as broadly as possible.
