  • Octavia Roy

    LONG TERM SUB

    Mrs. Roy is a native of Brockton, Massachusetts, and has lived in Pawtucket since 2013. She lives with her husband and college-age son.  Mrs. Roy holds a Masters in Teaching from the Relay Graduate School of Education and an MLL Certification from Roger Williams University. Mrs. Roy is excited to begin her 8th year of being in education and has held roles in Pawtucket, Providence, and Woonsocket. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, knitting, and all types of music. Fun fact: Mrs. Roy enjoys shopping for all kinds of Harry Potter-themed items, clothing, and accessories.  When you meet her in the hall ask her to show you her Harry Potter item of the week.

  • Mayra Castro

    GUEST TEACHER

    Mayra is currently attending CCRI for her Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education. She previously had worked with kids at an After School Program and even at a Daycare. She started her career with kids by taking care of them at her church when she was 13 years old. She was raised by her Guatemalan parents in Providence, Rhode Island, and doesn't see anywhere else as her home. She enjoys playing soccer, playing her bass guitar, and taking trips to Santiago Atitlan with her church.

  • Bhavani Guduri

    Bhavani completed her Bachelors in Computer Engineering in India in 2002. She has 6+ years of IT work experience. She has 6 months of teaching experience in India. She is hard-working and passionate about her work. She is Indian. She is a mother of two beautiful girls. She likes hanging out with family and friends.

  • Ethan Martin

    GUEST TEACHER

    Ethan was born in North Providence, Rhode Island and still lives there to this day. He graduated from Bishop Hendricken High School in 2018 and Emmanuel College in 2022 with a B.S. in Marketing. Ethan is currently working his way to a Master's Degree at Emmanuel and is on pace to finish this year. Ethan also works as a basketball coach and skills trainer, helping the youth of Boston and Rhode Island on their journey in personal and sports development. Ethan is excited to get started teaching and looks to bring energy, knowledge, and experience to the team at the Learning Community.

  • Callie Rich

    GUEST TEACHER

    Callie graduated from Merrimack College with her B.S. in Business Administration and Marketing in 2021. She has previously worked in financial services for over 2 years. On top of working in the finance industry, she has 6 years of experience caring for children. Callie was born and raised in Melrose, MA by her loving family and has relocated to Providence. Callie is also an assistant cheerleading coach at Brown University. She also enjoys sporting events and hanging with her family and friends. 

  • Paige Harkins

    GUEST TEACHER

    Paige is currently attending RIC for her B.A. in Elementary Education with a concentration in Math. As a junior at RIC, she has accumulated over 75 hours of classroom observation, lesson planning, and teaching at various elementary schools. Paige is also the president and choreographer of the Hip Hop Dance Organization at RIC. Besides dancing, she enjoys reading, hanging out with her cat, and listening to podcasts.

  • Gavin Roberts

    GUEST TEACHER

    Whether studying music, martial arts, yoga, gardening, history, or social justice, Gavin’s path in life has allowed him to pursue his passion for learning while sharing that passion through his calling as a teacher. He earned his bachelor’s degree as a first-generation college student in the months after his daughter’s 2nd birthday, the same fall of 2023 his family moved to Providence from Sacramento, California. As he prepares to pursue his teaching credential, Gavin is excited to share his love of learning here at the Learning Community. 

  • Erik Greenberg

    GUEST TEACHER

    Erik holds a Ph.D. in American history from UCLA. For many years, he was the Director of Education at the Autry Museum in Los Angeles, where he got to work with tens of thousands of young people from almost every school district in the region. He came to Rhode Island in 2019 to run the museums of the Newport Restoration Foundation, which he left in 2023. Since then he has been teaching at CCRI and looking to become more involved in education work in Rhode Island. Erik lives with his wife Amy, his daughter Emma (who is studying Math at RIC), and their dog, Bertha (who is studying to become a better dog).  He is thrilled to be a Guest Teacher at the Learning Community.
