  • Yajaida De Jesús

    MATH INTERVENTIONALIST/ALL SUPERVISOR

    Yajaida holds a B.A. in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Rhode Island College. She is a native of Providence and a first-generation American, whose family immigrated from the Dominican Republic. Her educational journey has paved the way for a nearly two-decade-long teaching career. She has had the privilege of instructing and guiding individuals of diverse ages and backgrounds in various educational settings. These experiences encompass nurturing young minds in Providence public schools, co-teaching at a dual-language public elementary school in Washington DC, sharing knowledge as a teacher and learning specialist at a dynamic and inclusive private school in South Providence, and instructing adults at nonprofit organizations in Providence. Additionally, Yajaida is a mother who loves spending time with friends and family, and she has a passion for dance!

  • Courtney Lee

    TUTOR

    Courtney is a single mother to two little boys. She was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island. She has worked 15 years in customer service and continues to do so at nighttime. Right before Covid 19 hit she was a manager at Pizzeria Romana Bar & Grill in North Attleboro for 4 & 1/2 years. As a teen and growing up, she volunteered at her friend’s mom's home Day Care and spent many years working around children. Since Covid 19 hit she has been fortunate enough to be able to expand her career options and seeing as she loves working with children; here at the Learning Community will be a great opportunity for her. Courtney works great with children and loves to see children learn and grow. She thrives to help children succeed in life

  • Jayda Reed

    TUTOR

    Jayda has a passion for working with kids and being able to shape them into young individuals. She finds joy in being a part of the big “ah-ha” moment and having opportunities to direct and teach her students. She has worked with kids of most ages for almost five years now and is on the road to finish her schooling in counseling. Jayda Reed finds herself sipping coffee and reading books with her friends in her free time and loves to try new things. 

  • Iryna Kachynska

    TUTOR

    Iryna graduated from Yurii Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University (Ukraine) with her Bachelor's Degree in Philology in 2014, and then her Master's Degree in English Language and Literature in 2015. She previously worked as an assistant professor for the Department of Foreign Languages in Ukraine, as a teacher of English as a foreign language in Poland, and later as an interpreter and English language instructor in the USA. Iryna loves yoga and traveling. She has already been to 9 countries and plans to see more in the future. At her Year 8 at school, Iryna decided to choose a career in education and she has been successfully following her dream since then.

  • Ruben de Pina

    TUTOR

    Ruben graduated high school in 2022 and is currently an undergraduate at the Community College of Rhode Island. He previously worked as a Chief Human Resource Officer Intern and as a cashier at a pizza place in Pawtucket. He was raised by immigrant parents from Cabo Verde in Pawtucket, RI. Ruben loves spending time with friends and family, listening to music, and loves exploring new places.

  • Alexandra Torres

    TUTOR

    Alexandra is a first-generation college student and a recent graduate from the Community College of Rhode Island. She is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology at Roger Williams University. She has a passion for working with children and loves seeing them thrive. Alexandra is also a volunteer helpline advocate at Day One RI and is dedicated to giving care and support to others. She loves trying new things and spending time with her family, friends, and two dogs. In her free time she finds herself listening to music, watching anime, or diving into a true crime podcast with a coffee in hand!

  • Rebekah Dragomire

    TUTOR

    A native of West Virginia, Rebekah has lived in four states. She moved to Rhode Island 18 years ago and now calls the Ocean State home. She holds a B.A. from Marshall University. For over a decade, Rebekah has supported children’s theater and can often be found backstage helping with costumes and props. Rebekah enjoys skiing with her family, walking her Labrador Retriever and reading a good book.
